Last week I had the pleasure of joining a discussion, centered on the Fifth Age of Work, at New Work City. While it’s always nice to talk about the future of work and promote my book, what I really got out of the visit was being at NWC and learning from the folks who attended the discussion.
I must say, I’ve been to literally dozens and dozens of coworking spaces around the world, and have written about coworking for many years. But for my money, New Work City is the place. It occupies the type of loft-warehouse-urban-community space that for me IS coworking, and is both big enough to have the force of density but is warm enough to feel intimate and cozy. What can I say, Tony and Peter have nailed it. Indeed, I would add that, as the various chains and megabrands co-opt coworking and turn it into a modified form of Regis offfice, I hope they don’t stray too far from essence (see NWC) of what coworking is all about!
